Prep for Next Meeting: The Art of Dreaming

As an update to our next meeting, I will describe the four gates of Dreaming as explained in Carlos Castaneda’s “The Art of Dreaming.”  Please consider these four gates and where you place within your practice.  I would like to discuss our experiences with each and any advice we may have for others on beings you’ve encountered or obstacles you’ve run into.

Gate #1)  Become aware that you are falling asleep – i.e. dreaming.  By focusing on an object & sustaining sight of whatever you are looking at in a dream.
-          This is a matter of intent, where you convince yourself that you are a dreamer.

Gate #2)  Move (by will/ choice) in your dreams.  Dream hopping on command and stopping when intended.  *To wake up in another dream*  This might also be when you encounter other energy beings (for example – inorganic beings).

Gate #3)  Seeing yourself dreaming, the control of the dreaming body.  In other words – Astral Projection or remote viewing.

Gate #4)  Solidify your dreaming body into the double.  Think tardis – at this point exploring new worlds, dimensions, and times is possible both in the energy body and the physical.  This is also called “to intend in the second attention.”  It means to fall asleep in the physical and then have your energy body fall asleep and wake up as your double in another place or time.  AKA, the dreamers dream.
